Busan Energy Economy Newspaper, Reporter Kang Se-min - The Busan National Science Museum (Director Kim Young-hwan) will hold a special exhibition called 'C.I.S. (CES In Sciport) 2024' showcasing the innovative technologies of companies that participated in the world's largest consumer electronics and IT exhibition CES, from April 12 to May 19 at the Science Museum's pop-up zone.
This exhibition is organized to promote outstanding science and technology from South Korean companies that surprised the world in celebration of Science Month. Through a public recruitment process, two companies, JKTech and Total Soft Bank, were selected.
Total Soft Bank, a leading developer of autonomous port transportation systems in Korea, presented the 'CAYT (Connected Autonomous Yard Truck) system.'
The CAYT system consists of autonomous yard trucks that transport containers in the port and an integrated control system. Due to the 24-hour operation of ports, there is an urgent need to introduce autonomous driving technology to address labor shortages and prevent accidents. The system aims to create a coexistence system between humans and unmanned trucks.
At this exhibition, visitors can see a series of systems that establish operational plans, explore optimal routes, manage dispatches, and watch actual test videos of the CAYT system.
Director Kim Young-hwan of the National Science Museum of Busan stated, "This exhibition is prepared as a link connecting science and technology with the world," and "expressed hope that visitors would not miss the opportunity to experience the latest global science and technology."
Meanwhile, in celebration of Science Month, the National Science Museum of Busan will also operate various science experience programs, including the joint special exhibition 'Are You Ready?: Sports through Science' and the Mathematics and Science Experience Exhibition 'Sci-Pi Smile,' as well as special performances such as science magic shows and experiment shows.
