[Excerpt from the Scope Section of the Original Document]

This standard defines the message specifications that must be exchanged between terminal operating systems (TOS) and internal transport equipment, such as yard trucks, automated guided vehicles (AGVs), and autonomous yard trucks, to efficiently manage internal transport operations. These operations involve transporting import and export container cargo:

  • Between berths and storage yards,
  • Between storage yards, or
  • Between berths within container terminals.

In this standard, the exchange messages consist of:

  1. Transport Execution Information Message: Sent by internal transport equipment to the terminal operating system to convey the progress or results of each stage of the transport task performed according to TOS instructions.
  2. Response Message: Sent by the terminal operating system to the transport equipment to confirm the successful receipt of the execution message.

This standard does not include the specification of communication interfaces or protocols for message exchanges.

It may also apply to inland container depots operated with transport equipment and processes similar to those in container terminals. However, it does not apply to equipment such as pipelines or conveyors that are not considered transport equipment under this standard or to facilities operated using transport processes that differ from the processes outlined in this standard.
